Alvin G. McGinness

Alvin Greenlee McGinness, born 12 Apr 1843, died 15 Feb 1912, He served in Company I, 134th Pennsylvania Volunteers. Alvin was wounded at battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia, 13 Dec 1862 and received a surgeon's discharge Apr 1863.

He was the son of William and Jane McGinness of Little Beaver Township, Lawrence County. The family originally came from Allegheny Township, Allegheny County, PA., where William was employed as a blacksmith.

Alvin G. McGinness married Mary Jane Hartshorn in 1866 and had a family of five children.
