William F. Harpst

William F. Harpst served in the 150th Regiment, PA Volunteers during the Civil War. He also contributed material for the book, 150th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers by LCOL. Thomas Chamberline, 1895, rewritten and reprinted in 1905. Four companies initially mustered into the 150th from Crawford Co. Most of the "recruits", were from Meadville.

William F. Harpst bears a strong resemblance to Captain John Burris Fay, his half brother.
