Hattie K Magill Hughes and Herbert Ray

Hattie K Magill Hughes and Herbert Ray

Hattie K. Magill Hughes was the daughter of Charles & Margaret Kennedy Magill, being a sister of my great-grandmother Jenny Magill Thorne. Hattie was b. May 27, 1857, married Apr. 18, 1888 to Charles H. Hughes and their son Herbert Ray was born 1889 in Crawford Co., PA. Hattie died in Oct. 1929.

I found this picture among a collection that came from my grandmother Gertrude Harriet Thorne Webb Beck, daughter of Francis Edwin & Jenny Magill Thorne.

I would like to hear from anyone knowing of the Hughes/Magill families & if any corrections are needed to the above information I have given.

McGill, Hunter

My gggrandad was Charles M. Hunter who is on the 1850 census md.
to Nancy. His middle name may have been McGill and his moms name
was Darkes McGill. Any relation to Hattie?

McGill, Hunter

None of those names ring a bell. My Magill/McGill line came from Ireland to Philadelphia to Erie, PA then down to Crawford Co. Sorry

Thanks for the response. My Charles McGill Hunter's mom was
Dorcas McGill Hunter. Her husband was William Hunter.
I'm not sure exactly where they were from but I think the McGill's
were somehow related to the Methiable?? Arters maybe. There is
a lot of information on the PA website about Robert Hunter and
Elizabeth Park.... I think Robert Hunter was from Tyrone Ireland.
He is dad to William. William is dad to Charles McGill Hunter
who came to Decherd TN just before 1870. Charlie married first
Nancy and then she probably died in childbirth. He then married
Jane Campbell or Martha Jane Campbell before coming to TN.
I think the county is Tioga or Venango or Forest. But the photo
I had that was supposed to be related to me from Pennsylvania had Crawford Co., Meadville and then the name (could be artist or the
person's name) "Wiley Artist" listed on the back of the photo.
That is why I thought this McGill probably was kin to ours. I do not have the photo now but wonder now if that may have been "Wiley Arters"

Methiable Arters from Warren

Methiable Arters from Warren Pa. married Daniel Jones and the county they lived in was Venango (later Venango was split into Forest co. and Venango Co.. They settled in Trunkeyville Pa. right along the Allegheny river. I just stumbled across your post and thought this info might help some. :)
